At Vard Design, you will work in a highly skilled and collaborative environment dedicated to developing advanced vessel concepts for the global maritime industry. As a Concept Electrical Engineer (Electrical System Architect), you will play a key role in the early-phase design of next‑generation low‑ and zero‑emission vessels—contributing directly to technology choices, system architecture, and innovation.
We are looking for both experienced engineers and candidates early in their careers. You will receive the support, training, and development opportunities needed to grow in a strong, inclusive, and multidisciplinary team within the maritime industry.Your responsibilities
Technical Development
- Develop electrical architectures for new vessel concepts
- Dimension power plants and integrate technical equipment
- Contribute to contractual documentation and build specifications
- Ensure remote and cyber‑resilience considerations in the early design phase
Collaboration & Customer Interaction
- Work closely with Vard Electro and external suppliers
- Support our Sales organization with technical insight
- Serve as the technical point of contact for the electrical discipline in conceptual projects
Qualifications
- Relevant education or experience within electrical engineering / maritime systems
- Good understanding of marine electrical power systems
- Familiarity with DP system and cyber‑resilience is an advantage
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken
- Good cultural understanding and ability to collaborate across disciplines
