As an independent CFM56 aircraft engine maintenance specialist, Aero Norway has capability of ca. 1400 internal repair and access to over 1000 external repairs. We continuously upgrade repair services and extending repair capabilities for engine parts and components as part of our overall business strategy.
This position reports to the Engineering Manager.
Job description
- Serve as the subject matter expert of CFM56 -3/-5B/-7B part repair and repair processes
- Support the inspection and project teams to evaluate part damage to determine reparability or deviation requests, and hence coordinate repair requests and activities with internal/external parties and various OEMs
- Support various operations department with implementing of new or updated work specifications and plans in line with approved technical data
- Act as the owner of the Aero Norway Repair catalogue ensuring it remains accurate and current
- Evaluate and analysis of supplier quality and supplier warranty cases, to identify root causes and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and optimize together with senior management the Aero Norway CFM56 strategic repair business portfolio, including evaluation of new repairs in house and supporting equipment used in new repairs (shot/ glass bead peening, machining, plasma spray, NDT, welding etc.)
- Coordinate with local and global repair vendors for technical reviews, ensuring alignment with quality standards and repair specifications
- Participate in the Aero Norway’s Lean program.
Qualifications
- University Degree in aviation or mechanical or manufacturing engineering. Candidates with extensive shop floor experience will also be considered for this position.
- Preferable a minimum of 5 years of experience in repair or overhaul of aircraft engines
- Good business acumen
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining shot peening, plasma spray etc.
- Good understanding of NDT processes

- Good communication skills in English and Norwegian
