 About the role

Come join us in Stavanger, Norway as our new Software Test Automation Engineer and be part our vibrant international Software QA & Test team. 
Our team is working across several products supporting simulation and training using Laerdal simulators. We are supporting products running on multiple frameworks like .NET WPF, .NET MAUI, Qt, and others. Across all our products we support Windows applications, Linux applications, mobile applications, and web applications. Therefore, the potential to utilize test automation skills and expanding test automation knowledge is never ending. 
Your role will be to ensure we can maintain high quality in the products and deliver value to users in a quick and continuous manner. You will be responsible for design, implementation, and maintenance of test automation framework for each product we are working with. You will support test engineers working directly in development teams and enable them to transition into more test automation to achieve this. You will help set the best practices in test automation area to ensure long term quality improvement of Laerdal products.

Some of what you will be doing

• Participate in all QA/test activities related to the software release process 

• Design, implement and maintain test automation strategy 

• Design and implement test automation for our software products 

• Coach and guide other test engineers and developers in the test automation area 

• Collaborate with developers and designers to understand requirements and found defects 

• Create, execute, and maintain a test automation suite 

• Perform manual test case design and execution 

• Manage defects, troubleshoot and investigate root causes 

• Interact at a cross-functional level to achieve optimal solutions 

• Explore and keep up to date with modern technologies
  

What we are looking for
You are a talented and enthusiastic Software Test Automation Engineer. You are used to working across disciplines and have good communication and interpersonal skills. You are self-driven and capable of going beyond requirements to find inaccuracies. You like to share knowledge and are interesting in helping others.

Preferred qualifications:

• A master’s or bachelor’s degree within Computer Science or similar 

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as Software Test Automation Engineer  

• Experience with multiple test automation frameworks and environments (we support cross platform applications: desktop and mobile) 

• Experience with test automation of cloud applications is an advantage 

• Knowledge of test methodology (ISTQB, TMap®) is a benefit 

• Experience in agile methodologies such as Scrum / Kanban 

• General understanding of CI/CD build pipelines 

• Good communication skills
