About the Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Swivel Systems, you will play a key role in the design and development of advanced swivel systems used in offshore energy applications. The position focuses on mechanical design of complex machinery, components, and assemblies, as well as ownership of engineering deliverables within assigned project scopes.
You will work closely with a co-located, multidisciplinary engineering team and actively contribute throughout all project phases, from early concept and bid work to detailed design and execution. This role is essential to supporting APL’s growing project portfolio and strengthening NOV’s position as a leading provider of offshore technology.

Key Responsibilities
Mechanical design of components and assemblies – Develop mechanical solutions for swivel systems and associated outfitting.
3D modeling and engineering documentation – Produce detailed 3D models and drawings, including tolerances, references, fasteners, fittings, hoses, and specifications.
Design ownership – Take responsibility for design deliverables within assigned scope and ensure quality and compliance.
Design improvements and innovation – Identify and implement practical and innovative design enhancements.
Project participation – Contribute actively throughout project phases, from concept development to execution.
Early-phase involvement – Support technical studies, concept development, and bid work.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential Qualifications:
BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent.
5–8 years of relevant experience in machinery or structural design for offshore applications.
3–5 years of experience with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD – required for daily design and documentation tasks.
Strong understanding of mechanical design best practices – ensures high-quality and reliable engineering solutions.
Fluent English communication skills – required in an international working environment.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with Navisworks – beneficial for coordination and model review.
Experience with Vault – adds value to document and configuration management.
Background in rotating machinery and hydraulic equipment design – advantageous for swivel system development.
Interest in or experience with AI-assisted engineering tools for design optimization, data handling, or automation.
