Experienced HSE Officer in construction - data-center fit-outs Nordics

We are a construction company specializing in data center fit-outs, committed to excellence in every project we deliver. As our operations expand and we take in more projects, we are looking for a professional and experienced HSE officer for our projects in Scandinavia.

The Health & Safety Officers leads the development and implementation of health, safety, and environmental strategies across all operations. They ensure compliance with national regulations, promote a strong safety culture, manage risk assessments, and drive continuous improvement to safeguard employees, contractors, and project environments.

Responsibilities:

Manage the HSE

• Ensure compliance with HSE related mandatory legal requirements for all entities, client, and end-customers in Fortica.

• Develop, edit, update and apply risk assessments and safe systems of all parts of the business.

• Development, editing, and monitoring of the Health & Safety Management System for Fortica and monitoring projects.

• Ensure that all employees are background checked, are legally working in the country.

Provide HSE related training

• Ensure that all workers are licensed and trained for the work they are performing.

HSE Maintenance and Report

• Monitoring of Lag indicators.

• Investigations and Root Cause Analysis.

• Develop and implement a systematic program of Lead Indicators to prevent unwanted situations/incidents.

• Assess and implement controls to eliminate or minimize inherent risks by applying the hierarchy of control.

• Periodically Reporting on H&S to the COO.

Others:

• QHSE: Collaborate and participate in the actions assigned to the job.

• Support other functions as assigned.

Authorities:

• Contact and coordination with Governing bodies as needed (i.e. The Norwegian Labor Inspection Authority: Arbeidstilsynet, Social Services: NAV, etc)

• Contact with clients and other key stakeholders

Requirements:

• Degree in Health and Safety or a related field.

• MS Office.

• A driving licence.

• Willingness to travel as required for project delivery.

• Excellent English (Spoken & Written).

• Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.

• In-depth knowledge of health and safety standards.

• Proven job experience or internship in security and safety roles.

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Great attention to detail.

• Ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms.

• Excellent organizational skills.
