Senior Frontend Developer

Netlife develops and operates a white label workflow and ecommerce platform used by volume photographers in more than 30 countries around the world. Our customers photograph more than 7 million students and athletes every year, and our ecommerce platform handles a yearly transaction value of more than 1000 MNOK.

To keep up with our growth and enable us to be even more ambitious in the future, we are now looking for more talented and friendly people to join our small but growing team.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Front-End Engineer to join our development team. You are passionate about building robust, well-tested front-end code with a strong focus on user experience. You enjoy collaborating with designers, product owners and fellow engineers to transform ideas into high-quality products. You take pride in your work and naturally assume responsibility, ensuring that the solutions you build are reliable, maintainable, and scalable.

In this role, you will work both on developing new functionality and on maintaining, refactoring and modernizing an existing codebase. You are comfortable improving legacy systems incrementally, reducing technical debt, and making pragmatic decisions that balance long term architecture with day-to-day business needs.

Qualifications we are looking for

• Minimum 5 years relevant work experience
• Strong knowledge of HTML/JavaScript and modern web browser APIs, as well as experience supporting a wide range of browsers and devices.
• Solid experience with React and associated modern web client development practices (incl rendering optimizations, state management and api calls).
• Proficiency with TypeScript and familiarity with related build tools and workflows.
• Experience with styling systems such as Material UI, or other styling systems that integrate nicely with React, and implementing responsive designs that scales nicely to different screen sizes.
• Familiarity with UI/UX concerns and ability to identify UX-issues in early designs and participate in design processes.
• Experience implementing accessible systems and familiarity with relevant accessibility standards such as WCAG.
• Proficiency in using Git for collaborative workflows.
• Experience with developing automatically testable frontends.
• Familiarity with both server-generated pages as well as modern SPAs (API-driven frontend applications), and hybrid approaches.
• Experience with PHP for server-generated pages is a plus, especially with Symfony and related technologies such as Twig templates.
