A remake of the 1969 madcap comedy starring Ryan O'Neal, based on the novel by Elmore Leonard and set in the lush tropical surroundings of Hawaii. Jack Ryan (Owen Wilson) is a small-time thief and conman who is determined to leave his life of crime behind him. But then he meets surfer-girl femme fatale Nancy (Sara Foster), who enlists his help in stealing $200,000 from her real estate tycoon boyfriend - Jack's former boss, Ray Ritchie (Gary Sinise). Along the way, Jack encounters a string of shady characters (played by Morgan Freeman, Bebe Neuwirth, and Charlie Sheen among others), and eventually finds himself at a moral crossroads where he must choose between the money, the girl... or the honourable path.
