Robotics Automation Engineer

Solwr Robotics develops innovative robotic systems to solve logistics challenges in the retail and trade industry. We currently have two products on the market:

• Grab - an autonomous pick-and-place robot for warehouse operations

• Sort - a high-speed, space-efficient pallet sorting machine

We are looking for a Robotics Automation Engineer to work closely with our development and delivery teams on the following tasks:

• Develop robust and scalable PLC software for our robotic solutions.

• Design and implement new automation solutions for prototyping and new robot platforms.

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve existing PLC programs and robotic systems.

• Test new features and actively contribute to debugging and performance improvements.

• Support customers through technical analysis and issue resolution.

• Participate in commissioning, testing, and debugging at customer sites.

• Drive technical decisions and, depending on experience, mentor junior engineers.

• Contribute to technical documentation.

• Help maintain and update the automation bill of materials (BOM).

The position is based at our Ålesund office and will require some travel to customer sites.

You are a good fit for this role if you have one or more of the following qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in Automation, Robotics or equivalent practical experience

• Experience with PLC software development, preferably using Structured Text

• Experience working with motors, sensors, and robotic systems

• Fluency in both Norwegian and English (spoken; written proficiency is an advantage)

• A strong interest in robotics, new technologies, and customer-facing work
