Through close collaboration with research institutions, growers, and industry partners, we contribute to sustainable food production, climate resilience, and future-ready agriculture.
As Graminor enters a new era of plant breeding, we are launching and scaling the implementation of speed breeding to accelerate genetic gain and shorten breeding cycles. To support this transition, we are expanding our team to strengthen our digital, genomic, and data-driven breeding capabilities. We are now seeking a skilled and motivated biostatistician to join our multidisciplinary research and breeding team.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will play a key part in enabling data-driven plant breeding at Graminor. Your responsibilities include:
• Developing genomic and/or phenomic selection models to improve selection accuracy.
• Handling complex datasets to strengthen Graminor’s in-house analytical and data management capabilities.
• Building and maintaining reproducible, automated analysis pipelines and workflows.
• Facilitating the integration of new technologies, including AI, machine learning, and multi-environment modelling, into breeding programs.
Qualifications
Education
• MSc or PhD on biostatistics, computational biology, quantitative genetics, bioinformatics, or a closely related field.
Skills and experience
• Background in statistical analysis, data quality control, and genomics; exposure to machine learning is an advantage.
• Strong programming/scripting skills (e.g., Python, R).
• User skills with Linux/Unix environments and command-line workflows.
• Experience with big-data such as; next-generation sequencing (NGS) data and multispectral, imaging data.
• Familiarity with bioinformatics pipelines and workflow management systems.

• Proactive
Prefferred/advantageous
• Familiarity with plant breeding or applied genetics.
• Norwegian language skills (spoken and written) are an advantage.
