Drive innovation in marine operations

Jefferson Wells is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Principal Marine Engineer. This is a key role in a major project where you will take responsibility for marine engineering activities and act as Discipline Responsible Engineer (DRE). We are looking for someone with solid experience in marine operations and design, and strong knowledge of standards such as NORSOK and DNV.
Contract period: 02.03.2026 – 02.03.2027
Location: Asker

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Perform marine engineering in projects
• Coordinate and manage interface activities with T&I contractors
• Act as Discipline Responsible Engineer (DRE) for the marine discipline
• Arrange and lead internal meetings, client meetings, workshops, and reviews
• Interface with internal teams, clients, other disciplines, and the fabrication yard

Background and Qualifications

• Master or Bachelor of Science degree
• Minimum 10 years of experience in marine engineering or operations design in greenfield/brownfield projects or offshore wind
• Thorough knowledge of marine engineering and operations according to relevant standards such as NORSOK and DNV
• Efficient communicator, fluent in English both orally and in writing
• Cooperative attitude and ability to work in a multicultural team environment
• Natural team player with the ability to work independently
• Systematic and accurate, with strong commitment to deadlines and quality requirements
• Proactive, willing to seek advice and share experiences
• Innovative mindset, eager to improve methodology and solutions through digital tools
