We are selling our beautiful framed oil painting by Endre Aalrust, measuring 1m x 1.2m.
With his "Old Faithful" series, Endre Aalrust has developed a technique that allows the viewer to observe a geyser landscape through a rain-streaked windowpane. Through various experiments to optimize the painting technique for raindrops, he has created a composition that invites relaxation and reverie.
We purchased this painting in 2024 from the KUK Gallery in Trondheim. The invoice can be sent upon request.
The purchase price of the painting was 58,000 NOK.

The following information is publicly available about Endre Aalrust:
Endre Aalrust (born 1973 in Hamar) is a Norwegian painter and filmmaker who lives in Berlin. He studied at the University of Oslo (1992–1997) and at the Bergen Academy of Art and Design (1998–2002).
In his figurative paintings, Aalrust questions how prevailing ideals influence our lives, our romantic and sexual relationships, and our relationship with our own bodies, animals, and nature. He plays with traditional genres such as landscape, portrait, and still life painting, but his subjects are more often drawn from memes, dating apps, and lifestyle blogs than from art history and literature. Humor almost always plays a significant role, often in conjunction with feelings like shyness and shame. Despite the almost humorous lightness of the works, the viewer is often left unsure whether something is authentic and touching or merely sentimental, subtle, or ridiculous—similar to the nagging feeling one has after scrolling through countless Instagram reels or wasting a sunny Sunday watching a mediocre Netflix series.
Humor Aalrust was purchased by the Neuer Berliner Kunstverein, Berlin, Germany, the Museum By Art Matters, Hangzhou, China, the National Museum, the Art Collection of the City of Oslo, the Equinor Art Programme, the Innlandet County Council and NTNU.
