These beautiful Ohio Stoneware multi-functional preserving crocks serve many uses such as preserving vegetables like cucumbers for pickling and cabbage for sauerkraut, or for everyday uses like pantry and kitchen containers.
Usage Instructions: Crocks used for fermentation should be kept in a cool, dry place to allow the vegetables or fruits to ferment naturally.
Lead-free, food-safe glaze: The ceramic material with a lead-free, food-safe glaze will not retain the food's flavors and makes clean up easy.
Durable: High temperature-fired for durability. Hand wash and dry completely before storing.
Our American-made stoneware products are crafted by family-owned businesses. Each piece is hand-thrown, so slight variations should be expected and enjoyed. Note: While we make every effort to keep the items in stock, the popularity of these artisan pieces means that occasionally we run out of inventory. Our suppliers may need 3-4 months to craft the items and ship them to us, resulting in similar delays to our customers. These beautiful Ohio Stoneware crock lids will help to protect your food during fermentation, especially from certain types of yeast. They also protect the food you might be storing in your crock in the pantry.
WEIGHT:
This weight set consists of two semi-circular stones designed to fit Ohio Stoneware's 3 Gallon Preserving Crock.
The weights are unglazed and used for food preservation. The stones rest on top of food inside of the crock to keep food in the brine for proper fermentation.
