Technical Leader – Tanker Fleet

We are seeking a dedicated Technical Leader to support the technical department with management, compliance and maintenance of the middle-east team and engaged vessels. Are you ready for the challenge?

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Coordination and arrangements of maintenance activities, breakdowns, major repairs, overhauls and dry docks in compliance with Class and Flag requirements in a safe and cost-effective manner.

• Physically take part of breakdowns rectification when needed with hands-on involvement.

• Monitor the vessels routine maintenance, PMS, establish maintenance strategies and routines.

• Ensure spare parts and consumables stocks are kept in accordance with operational requirements.

• Monitor, record and report repair, maintenance and technical condition.

• Collaborate with suppliers, shipyards, classification societies.

• Visit the assigned vessels regularly for repairs, inspection and maintain close contact with crew.

• Responsible for emission reporting, MRV, DCS, ETS, SEEMP etc.

• Member of technical department contingency task force.

• Close collaboration with cross departments and commercial operators.

• Supporting the team in resolving NCs and processing purchases and spares.

Experience and competence requirements:

• University or College degree in maritime or technical discipline or compensating work experience from shipyard / technical firm.

• Minimum 5 years relevant work experience as technician, automation engineer, naval architect, Marine engineering, Chief Engineer/2nd engineer or mechanical engineer with interest in the role.

• Fluent in English – spoken and written (working language is English).

• Familiar with applicable class rules, regulations, and technical industry requirements.

• Ability to independently use computer organizing and quality control tools and source needed suppliers.

• Experience with creating, updating and following up planned maintenance systems (PMS).

• Ability to revise ship maintenance routines based on manufacturers/makers manuals and recommendations.
