With a track record of more than 150 successful marine hybrid and electrical delivers, ZEM shall take substantial market share over the next years to come. To help drive this growth we are expanding our Sales and BD team.
The Role
We are looking for a commercially minded engineer with a background in management consulting, industrial business development, or technical B2B sales.
In this role, you will be a key player in further building ZEM’s sales and BD function. You will be combining technical insight of ZEM’s solutions and understanding of the customers’ need, thus driving business development and finally contract closure.
This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing cleantech scale-up and you will make a real impact on the maritime industry. ZEM is a small company, and you will be given large areas of responsibility and will have a great impact on the company’s continued journey.
Key Responsibilities
Understand the customers’ needs and work with the technical organization to develop tender proposal for customers (shipowners, yards, partners)
Develop and drive sales processes from lead generation to closing, together with the CEO/leadership team
Develop regional strategies and sale and event plans.
Identify new market opportunities, generate leads and develop to opportunities and contribute to ZEM’s growth strategy
Prepare sales and marketing materials (presentations, proposals, pitch decks)
Deliver strong customer and partner presentations, negotiate and close deals
Structure and follow up on pipeline opportunities in the CRM system
Your Profile
Master’s degree in engineering/technology (marine, electrical, mechanical, energy or industrial economics)
2–5 years of experience from management consulting, industrial BD, or technical sales
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a business mindset
You are able to close deals
Excellent presentation and communication skills (both written and spoken)
Comfortable working hands-on in a fast-paced, scale-up environment
Fluent in English (Norwegian language skills are a plus but not required)
Legally entitled to work in Norway
International experience – culture awareness
Willingness to travel
