Size unframed: 60 x 45 x 4 cm
Sides are painted white. Unframed and ready to hang. Signature front and verso, also signed Certificate of Authenticity Year: 2025 Medium: acrylic, watercolour, oil pastels and texture on canvas. I love this combination of colours because it reminds me of happy days by the lily pond.
The setting sun spreads a pearly pink glow and sends blushing shades of beauty on the green lawns. The pond is like a sea of white and pink, the most beautiful water lilies in delicate hues. Delicious fragrances are everywhere and the soft music of laughter fills the air. The hues on the horizon are pink, white, green and grey, signalling that this is indeed a very fine day.
By building up many layers of texture and colour, using brushes and palette knives, the artist creates a rich surface and vibrant relationships between random shapes and deliberate markings in her work. She also uses charcoal and oil pastels to heighten the botanical impressions and create depth and movement in her paintings. The drips in her work illustrate the endless cycle of growth and decay in organic structures, which again is a reflection of life itself.
