Join Us as an Operational Excellence Engineer

Intelligent Mud Solutions AS (IMS) is seeking a proactive Operational Excellence Engineer to secure world-class uptime and operational reliability for the RheoSense product line.

In this field-facing role, you will be actively involved in offshore and onshore operations, supporting field deployments, leading preventive maintenance activities, troubleshooting, and continuously improving how our systems perform in live drilling environments.

You will be a key part of the frontline team, ensuring that RheoSense units deliver maximum performance, minimum downtime, and outstanding service quality for IMS' clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Be the primary technical support resource for deployed RheoSense systems, offshore and onshore.

• Manage and carry out remote diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance.

• Monitor and report on uptime KPIs and immediately address any operational anomalies or early warning indicators.

• Support field installations, commissioning, and decommissioning activities as required, including site travel as required.

• Analyse operational incidents and field failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective measures.

• Maintain accurate operational logs, incident reports, and service documentation

• Partner with the Technical, Engineering, and Operations teams to feed real-world experience into continuous product improvement.

• Actively support the R&D developments through to commercial products.

• Participate in operational readiness planning and client support programs.

• Train and mentor field users and service technicians in best practices for RheoSense operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or technical college diploma in Petroleum Engineering, or related field.

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience from offshore operations or field service or system maintenance or drilling operations and support.

• A solid understanding of drilling-related technologies and techniques.

• Offshore experience is a strong advantage (valid offshore certificates preferred or willingness to obtain)

• Drilling fluid engineering experience is a strong advantage

• Strong mechanical and reasonable electrical and data troubleshooting skills

• Practical experience with real-time sensor systems or automation technology is highly valued

• Structured, independent, and solution-oriented approach

• Ability to perform under pressure in operational and offshore environments

• Strong communication skills in English and Norwegian

• Willingness to travel internationally and work offshore as part of a project assignment.
