RIVINGTON LUDLOW skateboards is a culmination of a lifelong passion for art, skateboarding, New York City and Natural History, all mixed together to create an amalgam of my life and passions, passions my 6 - year-old son Varg Ragnar has grown up around.
In 1989, as a 14-year-old fan of music, art and skateboarding, I was mesmerized by the album cover for Beastie Boys’ Paul’s Boutique. It became my all-time favourite album cover, and with NYC being my favourite city, and one of my biggest sources of inspiration, years later and after dozens of visits I realized that the intersection of RIVINGTON street and LUDLOW street on the Lower East Side was the location for the original album cover.

RIVINGTON LUDLOW skateboards is deeply rooted in New York city and it’s rich and inspiring history.
The etymology of the name Manhatten stems from its original inhabitants the Lenape, an indigenous people of the Northeastern woodlands.
Their lands included Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, western Long Island and New York Bay.
Before the first Dutch colonists sailed through the Narrows into New York Harbor, Manhattan was still what the Lenape, who had already lived here for centuries, called ‘MANAHATTA’.
From the corners of the lower east side and the history carved in its streets to the roots of east coast skateboarding. We pay tribute to our inspiration, we are RIVINGTON LUDLOW skateboards.
