This is a "new," unused Rolex GMT-Master II 16710B, sold in 2007. Referred to as “New Old Stock” (NOS), the watch has never been worn and still has all protective plastic intact. It has never been opened, and the bracelet has never been removed. The watch has been stored in its original packaging under controlled, stable environmental conditions.
It comes complete with everything originally supplied from Mayors in Miami. For those who value originality, it’s important to note that all Rolex GMT 16710 “Pepsi” models sold in the U.S. carried the 16710B reference, with the “B” denoting the Pepsi bezel (while “A” indicated Black and “D” the Coke version).
This is an M-series model — the final production series of the GMT 16710 — all of which feature the 3186 movement instead of the earlier 3185. Therefore, it’s possible to confirm that this particular watch contains the 3186 movement without opening it, preserving its NOS condition.
Additionally, it has the rare “stick dial,” where the Roman numeral II after “GMT” is written as two vertical lines rather than the typical Roman font.
Collectively, all these factors make this an exceptionally rare piece. For those with a long-term perspective, it is undoubtedly an investment-grade watch.
