château d'Hortes with private heated pool in Languedoc, France.

Surrounded by vineyards and is magnificent park (10 000m2), an authentic French country castle (19th) with private and warmed pool, waiting you, come and savour “la vie de château".
It is a haven of peace and tranquility, ideal for up to 10 people. All the rooms look onto the garden. The blue elegant and bright drawing room, featuring comfortable seating, antiques and old paintings, the large dining room/library, and the TV room all open onto the spacious south terrace. The terrace is "the place to be" all day from breakfast to dinner. Two large lawns can accommodate all kinds of outdoor games. On the first floor they are five comfortable bedrooms and three bathrooms.

The pool area is “the second place to be”: the heated pool is totally private and secure in a huge lawned area with comfortable cushioned sun loungers so that you can either take a nap under umbrellas or play beach ball or other games.

Six generations of the same family have lived here, and the house has been carefully restored to preserve the atmosphere of an authentic family home, but also includes modern requirements, such as internet access with WIFI, flat screen TV with satellite connection....

Unfortunatly due stairs indoor and outdoor this house is not suitable for youg children under 5or 6 years old.

To get to Chateau d’Hortes by air, you have the choice of 3 airports, all served by low coast airlines. Béziers Airport is closest, just 15 minutes drive door to door from the Chateau (Ryanair and Flybe from Stokholm, Dusseldorf, Bristol, Oslo, Beauvais). Carcassonne Airport (50 minutes) Montpellier (50 minutes). By car: from motorway A9 exit 34 (45 minutes from Montpellier, 50 minutes from Carcassonne. By train: station TGV in AGDE from Paris, Airport Charles de Gaulle, Lyon or Montpellier.

You'll be choosing a lot of places to visit: the Medieval hamlet of "St Guilhem le Deserts is one hour’s drive, with its Music Festival; the spectacular limestone caves "Grotte de Clamouse"; the city of Carcassonne less than an hour away; the animal sanctuary Sigean; or the Canal du Midi and its famous locks (Béziers 20 minutes away) that you can explore on foot or by renting a boat for the day (within 10 minutes from home). Montpellier and the Musée Fabre is less than one hour from home;
Many long and sandy beaches of the Languedoc région are within an easy 15 minutes drive, e.g. the famous sea resort of Cap d'Agde where there are a lot of water activities (sailing, surfing, scuba diving).
Or drive along the coast until the "Etang de Thau", stop to explore the charming and typical ports Marseillan or Bouzigues to taste oysters and mussels with a fruity chilled rosé wine;

There are 2 very good golf courses a short drive from the Chateau. Golf St Thomas is only 15 mn drive, and the second course is at the sea resort of Cap d'Agde, a 20 mn drive. Both are 18-hole courses.
