Les Restanques is an original Provençal bastide, where the oldest parts date back 250 years. Here you find originality both inside and outside with rustique interior kept in style with the period of the property.

A short private driveway leads directly up to the house, where you find plenty of space to park cars - even a space for one car is covered.

The house offers 147 m2 (+ 20m2 annex), ideal for 1 or two families getting together for a relaxing holiday in private surroundings with neighbours at a comfortable distance. The stone terraces ("restanques" in French) and over 2 hectares land including the pool area are not overlooked, so you can comfortably enjoy total privacy here. There you find uninterrupted views with unspoiled nature, olive trees, fig trees, cypresses and other Mediterranean planting as far as the eye can see.

From the entrance at the front of the house to the left is a corridor leading to a separate toilet and shower room and 2 of the 4 bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has two single beds (80 x 200 cm) making up a double bed with large built-in wardrobe, drawers, desk, chest of drawers and access to the outside via French doors to a covered terrace with a table/chairs and views over the grounds and the pool. Through this room you have a children's bedroom (bedroom 2) with 2 bunk beds and a cot, ideal for a family with small children.

To the right through the front door is the main living space with a cozy sofa arrangement – two sofas, a coffee table, chair, flat screen TV and Apple TV. There is free wifi in the main house, which you can also use to stream movies and watch TV with a VPN connection - don't forget to sign up to your favourite online service before your holiday. This part of the house has the original floor tiles adding to the authentic look. The ceilings have exposed beams and the height makes the rooms feel light and airy.

At the other end of the living area you find an indoor dining table with 5 chairs and a bench and a view to the garden, the covered terrace and the land beyond.

The compact but practical kitchen is open plan from the dining area. Here you find a 4-ring gas hob, an electric oven, dishwasher and fridge-freezer. There is also a filter coffee machine, toaster and electric kettle. There are plenty of glasses, cutlery, cups, plates, pots and pans enough for cooking and enjoying meals together as a family.

From the living area, a doorway leads to the original entrance hall with a small table with chairs and a fireplace. From here you have access to Bedroom 3 with a two single beds (80x200 cm), which can be made into a double bed, a chest of drawers and a small desk. The en-suite bathroom has a bath with shower and a basin unit with shelves and access to utility room with washing machine.

From all the bedrooms and the annex you have direct access to the outdoors. The kitchen-dining area have French doors leading outside to the covered terrace with outdoor cooking facilities and a large dining table with chairs, worktop space, fridge and a 2-ring electric hob. There is also a Weber coal barbecue available.

To the side of the house is a large terraced area with a bench and table, another small table with chairs and loungers. Parasols offers the all-important shade here.

Away from the main house is the private pool with surrounding terrace and loungers.

The pool has an alarm for the safety of small children.

Just behind the pool area is the annex/guest house (bedroom 4) with two single beds (80 x 200 cm), a small table with chairs and a built-in cupboard, a kitchenette and a shower room/toilet. There is a small TV with a built-in VHS player and plenty of classic movies on tape available to watch. This is ideal for a couple or grandparents wanting their own space. This is also a wifi-free zone, where you can just "be" and soak up the Provençal atmosphere and nature, reading a book, enjoying the peace and quiet.

There are two bikes available, should you be in the mood for exploring the surrounding area this way or ride into the village.

In Lorgues, about 5-7 minutes drive you find Lorgues Tennis club and just outside Lorgues, on the road to Vidauban/Les Arcs, you find a pony club, where children can have riding lessons. The area is wonderful for biking, both mountain biking and street biking. There are also a possibility of renting bicycles (two bikes are available on site) - please ask for details. Lorgues also has good play grounds and an adventure (climbing) park and pony club close by.
The beaches of the Mediterranean coast and the Gorges du Verdon are all within 45 minutes drive. In Lorgues and in the nearby medieval villages, you can visit plenty of historic sites as well as enjoying the various local markets and festivals organised under the plane trees so typical of the region. Especially the Tuesday market is worth a visit - the largest in the area. For sports lovers: golf, cycling or mountain-biking, walking, bathing, fishing, canoeing etc. can be found in the surrounding area - please ask for updates at the local tourist information in Lorgues.

You find numerous bistros and restaurants in Lorgues and surrounding areas for all tastes and budgets from the famous restaurant 'Chez Bruno' just outside Lorgues known for its truffle-based specialities, the good quality 'La table du Pôl' with traditional French cuisine to the friendly and atmospheric Italian restaurant 'Main a la pate' just up from the centre of Lorgues (pizza and pasta dishes). Here you can eat outside in the warm evenings, children are welcome. There are plenty of local vineyards and chateaux nearby, where the staff is happy to show you around and let you taste their wines.

The rental price includes gas, water and electricity.

Arrival is Saturday between 16.00 and 19.00. If you are delayed please let us know.
Departure is Saturday before 10.00. If you leave very early (before 08.00), you can return the key through the letterbox at our town house in Lorgues (the vet clinic at 3 Place du Revelin).

Obligatory end cleaning is paid on arrival and amounts to €160.

Optional bed linen is charged at €12.50 per person and bath towels (not to be used by the pool) at €10.00 per person paid on arrival.

Payment conditions:
There will be made a rental agreement in the booking process, where the tenant will pay 25% of the total rental price as a deposit within a week.8 weeks before arrival the remaining 75% of the rent plus the safety deposit (€500) is paid. The safety deposit will be paid back to the tenant after successful end inspection of the property, at the latest 7 days after departure by bank transfer.
