There was Marvel Knights.
This run absolutely revitalized Daredevil and gave the character a darker, sharper, more mature tone that influenced nearly every major Daredevil story that followed.
And honestly, Joe Quesada’s cover here still looks incredible.
The motion lines, the deep reds, the city backdrop — it just screams late-90s Marvel in the best possible way.
Kevin Smith coming onto the title was also a huge deal at the time. Love him or hate him, his involvement brought a ton of attention back to Daredevil and helped launch Marvel Knights into something legendary.
This book also helped pave the way for the incredible runs that followed from creators like Brian Michael Bendis, Ed Brubaker and Chip Zdarsky.
A signed CGC 9.4 copy of this issue is such a clean piece of modern Marvel history.
