Amber Labdanum Cologne Intense is one of Jo Malone’s darkest and most enveloping fragrances. It smells warm, resinous, smoky, and golden — like amber glowing in candlelight.
The scent opens with bitter orange, but not in a sparkling citrus way. It’s dry, slightly bitter, and aromatic, giving a sharp contrast to the heavy amber underneath. Then the heart of the fragrance appears: labdanum — a resin that smells rich, leathery, ambery, slightly smoky, and faintly incense-like. Jo Malone describes it as “warm” and reminiscent of incense.
