"WELL … TRY TO RELAX – OPEN A BOTTLE OF WINE, YOU´LL PROBABALY SURVIVE" …
In this exhibition I show new work describing my experience in the time before, during and after the storm Sandy, which devastated New York in the autumn of 2012.
The images are inspired by chaos, power, mystery, suspense and a good dose of surrealism. Technically, most of the work is rougher than my previous projects.
- The feeling of powerlessness, isolation, confusion, but also a good dose of excitement and madness, is the backdrop for this exhibition.
- Failure to get away from something big and scary that is heading towards you is basically an uncomfortable feeling. You do not know when it comes, but you KNOW it's coming...
Meanwhile, the media gave the feeling that " you are going to struggle - this is not an ordinary storm - this is SANDY . You will probably die."
People stockpiled water, batteries and food, while darkness, the wind, the rain, sirens and blue lights overturned New York to a ghost town, with deserted streets, taped windows, sandbags, closed shops and parks.
In addition, it was Halloween, so vampires, zombies and sexy nurses did not make the experience less special.
