PC game IMP, made by Idol FX AB (a Swedish studio), released around the early 2000s and packaged in collectible discs—each disc representing a champion creature that you would install and play directly on your Windows desktop (the desktop icon looked like a BOX). The game used DirectX 8 and supported up to three players on one computer, each using their own disc creature. Nicolas Abandonware and Scandinavian retro gaming community posts confirm its existence, though it's nearly undocumented in mainstream archives .

Format: each CD contains the full game plus one unique monster champion
Installation: you installed directly to Windows (used DirectX 8), desktop icon looked like a “BOX” containing your champion

The interface is dated, but it still works on modern Windows if you mount the disc images or emulate CD inserts.
