Yep, I'm American and I'm selling my "Vote" Women's tee from the 2024 US Election, since it was probably the last time I'll ever be able to vote in my home country.
For those of you who don't know, due to Trump's voter suppression practices and Republican efforts to eliminate mail-in voting, it will become difficult if not impossible for Americans living overseas to cast a vote. Laws are changing so that Americans will likely need to fly home to cast their ballot in person. But even then, American women still face an additional hurdle.
If their last name no longer matches their birth certificate (note they must bring an official copy of their birth certificate with them in order to vote), they cannot cast their ballot unless they produce additional pieces of evidence demonstrating the evolution of their surname.
These include a certified marriage license, adoption papers, a name-change court order, their passport, and a "Real ID." Very few women have all of the above in the required format.
So if you don't have the proper combination of these documents, you can't vote. BUT, your husband gets to vote twice--once for himself and once for you. I'm not kidding. This means 69 Million American women will likely no longer be able cast their own ballot. This is what Trump has wrought on American women.
But I digress. If you want a piece of US history that is quickly disappearing, this shirt is for you. It shows the hands of women of different skin colors all raised in solidarity. Definitely a thing of the past, as MAGA trad wives have successfully reversed bodily autonomy and are working hard to repeal the 19th amendment (the right for women to vote).
