Updated GBA SP: new FunnyPlaying IPS/ITA display (bright, vibrant colors and great viewing angles), USB-C charging port, extended capacity LiPo battery all in a brand new translucent shell! I have only the fully clear model left for sale. 😊
The fully clear Gameboy has an ITA TFT display. Parts list:
- Advance SP AGS-001 (motherboard and membranes)
- ExtremeRate black translucent buttons and switches
- FunnyPlaying ITA TFT display kit (glass lens, laminated kit, backlit display)
- FunnyPlaying "MaxPlay" LiPo battery (true 950mAh extended capacity)
- Generic USB-C charging port and cover
- FunnyPlaying clear mirror finish SP shell

The purple translucent Gameboy has a 3.0 inch IPS display. Parts list:
- Advance SP AGS-001 (motherboard, buttons, switches and membranes)
- FunnyPlaying 3.0 IPS M2 display kit (glass lens, laminated kit, backlit display)
- FunnyPlaying "MaxPlay" LiPo battery (true 950mAh extended capacity)
- FunnyPlaying USB-C charging port and cover
- FunnyPlaying clear mirror finish SP shell

The black translucent Gameboy has the same specs as the purple one (IPS display, USB-C, LiPo battery) with the addition of a "clicky triggers" mod (new extra clicky shoulder buttons).

The displays are truly stunning: bright, vibrant, with great viewing angles and modern glass laminated design - your Nintendo games have never looked this good! The IPS display gives a more vibrant/modern look, while the ITA display appears more "period correct" (close to an AGS-101 or DS display). Both are a huge upgrade from the standard AGS-001 display (see also picture for comparison). Display settings (such as brightness and colours) can be accessed using the SP's brightness button.
The installed extended capacity LiPo battery (best available from independent testing) helps with the increased power draw on brighter display settings. The proprietary charging port has been replaced by a USB-C port, so no more need to carry around that SP cable. These SPs are truly ready for 2025!
