This is a top maintained motorcycle, I have the bills for more than 8000€ and 25000NOK of maintanance.
You ride motorcycles and then realize there's wind noise, so at street-legal speeds you don't hear at all your 4-cylinder engine, and that only a mighty 1000cc V2 could satisfy your need for grunt.
With age you also need more comfort and fairing, but unfortunately all the mighty V-twins come with forward leaned sporty seating position and with little or no fairing.
With the exception of Ducati ST-series, there is no such V2 sportstourer on market.
But an old Ducati means yearly expensive changes of timing belts and adjustments of desmodromics valvetrain combined with various electrical and reliability issues.
Its dry clutch also wears out, especially in city traffic.
In short, there is only one solution to this problem -> Aprilia RST1000 Futura.
It's a sportstouring version of the famous Superbike winning RSV1000 Mille, using the same Austrian Rotax V990 engine. That's some serious racing tech - 2 plugs and 4 valves per cylinder, direct injection, dry-sump lubrication, slipper clutch - but service friendly chain driven camshafts.
Think of it as a prodigy child of both Italy and Austria/Germany, since it has Italian style and dynamics, combinded with the reliability of the Austrian engine and German suspension components. Designwise it is basically an Italian Embassy on two wheels, a proper head-turner.
I bought it from a guy in Germany 4 years ago and brought and imported to Norway myself.
The guy was obsessed with it, it was his Diva, he didn't spare a dime.
Here in Norway I would regularly service it at Lillebror MC in Ås, ask Leif Grønslet.
I have the bills for more than 8000€ and 25000NOK of maintanance.

Gasoline tank refurbished, rear rack & heated grips installed in February 2024 (10000NOK)
New battery (1000NOK) October 2024.
New rectifier/regulator (629NOK) in November 2024 and recrimped the wiring loom.
New battery (1000NOK) March 2025.
New starter relay (700NOK) April 2025.
R&G Fork sliders (1000NOK) May 2025.
The Diva is basically as good as they get.
Nothing comes near close to it, in terms of the character, perfomance and ride comfort too, having the seat size comparable to Gold Wing's. 😃
So why sell it then?
Well, recently I've learned that Ducati Supersport models can also be fitted with panniers, making it so a similarly usable V-twin sportstouring beast.
With small side panniers only yes, no top-case possible, so it's a bit of a compromise.
Of course with some Ducati peculiarities (cannot reach/boost the battery since it's hidden somewhere down bellow for a better weight distribution, you need a 55mm 2kg pipe to take off the rear wheel, you cannot have a central stand and so on) but I decided to give it a chance anyway. I hope I don't regret selling Diva! 😅
