A research assistant position is available at the Department of Molecular Cell Biology, Institute for Cancer Research, Oslo University Hospital. The position is part of the Extracellular vesicles and Prostate Cancer project group (http://www.ous-research.no/llorente/). The position is part of the South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority funded project "Development of nanomedicine-based drug delivery systems for chemotherapy treatment of metastatic prostate cancer".

Duties and responsibilities


The objective of the project is to investigate nanomedicine-based approaches for delivery of the taxane cabazitaxel, a drug used in the treatment of metastatic prostate cancer. The project focuses particularly on biodegradable nanocarriers, and both manufactured nanoparticles and naturally occurring nanovesicles, so-called extracellular vesicles, will be used.
Project activities:
- Development of drug delivery devices based on nanoparticles and extracellular vesicles.
- Isolation and analysis of extracellular vesicles.
- Cell line (2D and organoids) growth and manipulation.
- Cellular and molecular biology analyses.
- Light and electron microscopy.
- Bioinformatic and biostatistics analysis.

Qualifications


• Master in nanotechnology, biochemistry, cell and molecular biology, biotechnology, biophysics, medicine or other related areas.
• Research experience in nanotechnology and development and fabrication of nanoparticles.
• Research experience in isolation and analysis of extracellular vesicles.
• Research experience in cellular and molecular biology methods.
• Knowledge in cancer biology.
• Experience in statistics, phyton and bioinformatic analysis.
• Capability to design and perform experiments in a creative way.
• Good presentation skills and experience in scientific writing.

Ability to work independently as well as a part of a team.
High working capacity, motivation and efficiency.
Solution-oriented and flexible.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
