Beskrivelse

A postdoctoral position is available at the Department of Radiation Biology at the Institute for Cancer Research, OUS Radium Hospital. Planned start date is 1st June, or after agreement. The position is for 3 years, on the project “Exploiting mitotic stress as a druggable cancer-specific vulnerability“, funded by the Norwegian Cancer Society. The project builds on our recent identification of a novel regulator of mitosis (PMID: 37291955) and aims to target stressed mitoses to selectively target cancer cells.

Qualifications

We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified co-worker with a PhD in molecular biology, who is interested in pursuing a research career. The ideal candidate should be experienced in cell- and molecular biology techniques, and show creativity and perseverance in designing, optimizing, and conducting experiments.

Previous experience in the following areas is desirable:

  • Working with 2D and 3D cell cultures
  • Molecular genetics techniques
  • CRISPR/Cas9 technology, gRNA design
  • Lentivirus technology
  • Experience with genetic or drug screens
  • Immunoprecipitation, mass spectrometry
  • Kinase assays
  • Cell-cycle analyses, flowcytometry
  • Live-cell imaging
  • Immunofluorescence microscopy
  • Translation assays
