Oslo International School seeks a dynamic Secondary Visual Arts Teacher for a maternity cover from August 2024 until June 2025 in the Lower Secondary School


Oslo International School (OIS) seeks a Visual Arts Teacher with a child-centred approach to learning, excellent training and classroom practice, strong collegial relationships, and a commitment to contributing to the development of the Visual Arts programme and school community. This position is a temporary maternity cover starting August 2024 until June 2025.


The Creative Arts Department at OIS prides itself on academic excellence, and creating an inclusive curriculum that culminates in the IB Diploma programme. The Visual Arts teachers are proactive, engaged teachers that inspire and challenge our students on their learning journey. They recognise the importance of learning outside of the classroom and offer our students co-curricular opportunities.


The Visual Arts teachers are led and supported by the Creative Arts Team Leader and the Head of Secondary is their line manager. They also collaborate with the Drama and Music teachers closely. The professional appointed to this role has an opportunity to work with colleagues who have vast experience, high standards, and welcome new ideas, as well as a highly motivated and engaged student body.


Requirements


  • A degree(s) in education and/or a teaching qualification.
  • Training and experience in teaching Visual Arts at middle school level.
  • Fluent in English with proficient language and writing skills.
  • Proficient English skills.
  • A positive attitude and team player.

Candidates with the following will be viewed favourably


  • Experience in international education.
  • Proficient learning technology skills.
