About the job

Do you have the motivation to make a profound and positive impact on the lives of children with special educational needs?

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced learning support teacher / specialist in special needs to join our caring learning support team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in creating a supportive and enriched educational experience for our students. As a support teacher / specialist, you will work closely with other students, families, and other key professionals to ensure each student’s unique needs are met.

This is a full-time permanent position, available from August 2024.


Key responsibilities
  • Create tailored learning plans that cater to the unique needs and abilities of each student
  • Create a positive and nurturing classroom environment that promotes growth, self-confidence and emotional wellbeing
  • Foster and build caring relationships with students with various learning needs.
  • Provide differentiated instruction to accommodate the various learning diversities within the classroom
  • Utilise evidence-based strategies to support students
  • Regularly monitor and assess student progress adjusting teaching methods as necessary
  • Foster and build caring relationships with students with diverse learning needs

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with:

  • A background in education or learning support
  • Experience working with positive behaviour management tools and strategies
  • A passion for creating inclusive and diverse learning experiences
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and external professionals
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of students. 
  • Experience working with students aged 6 - 16 years

Qualifications

The following qualifications are relevant:

  • HKDir approved teaching qualifications
  • Qualifications in special needs education, social work, or social care
  • All candidates should have:
  • Fluent English (minimum B2)
