The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:


  1. Experience: Demonstrated experience working in a professional kitchen environment, with a focus on wok cooking and Asian Fusion cuisine. Previous experience in a similar role, such as a line cook or wok chef, is highly desirable.
  2. Culinary Skills: Proficiency in wok cooking techniques, including stir-frying, steaming, and pan-frying, with the ability to achieve authentic flavors and textures in Asian dishes. Knowledge of Asian ingredients, spices, and seasonings is essential.
  3. Creativity: A creative and innovative approach to cooking, with the ability to develop and execute unique and flavorful dishes that showcase the best of Asian Fusion cuisine. Willingness to contribute ideas for menu development and specials is a plus.
  4. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency. Ability to follow recipes accurately and adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  5. Team Player: Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other members of the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations during service. Willingness to support colleagues and contribute to a positive work environment.

Arbeidsoppgaver

As a new cook/chef joining our kitchen at Eight restaurant, your role will encompass a diverse range of tasks and responsibilities tailored to maintaining our standards of excellence in Asian Fusion cuisine.


  1. Food Preparation: You will be responsible for preparing and executing dishes according to our recipes and specifications, ensuring consistency and quality in every plate.
  2. Menu Development: Collaborate with our culinary team to contribute ideas for new dishes, seasonal menus, and specials, bringing creativity and innovation to our offerings.
  3. Ingredient Management: Manage inventory levels of ingredients, ensuring freshness and minimizing waste, while also monitoring expiration dates and organizing storage areas.
  4. Cooking Techniques: Utilize a variety of cooking techniques, including grilling, stir-frying, steaming, and more, to achieve optimal flavors and textures in our Asian Fusion cuisine.
  5. Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation, conducting regular tastings and inspections to uphold our reputation for excellence.
  6. Kitchen Organization: Keep your workstation clean, organized, and well-stocked, following food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe and hygienic working environment.
  7. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the kitchen team, including sous chefs, line cooks, and dishwashers, to streamline operations and ensure smooth service during busy periods.
  8. Adaptability: Be flexible and adaptable to changes in menu offerings, kitchen procedures, and staffing requirements, demonstrating resilience and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
