About the role


reMarkable products are produced in Asia and distributed through retail channels in 13 countries and eCommerce channels in 45+ countries globally. At the same time, the vast majority of our workforce is still located at our brand new HQ in Oslo, Norway. Our ambitions are high, and to strengthen our existing capabilities and get closer to our customers and production facilities, we are establishing a permanent presence in different parts of the world. The VP Global Expansion will be crucial to ensure we do this in a strategic, efficient, responsible and smart way. The mandate of this role is not a “go-to-market” commercial role, but rather one that focuses on the establishment and running of legal entities, subsidiaries or operational hubs around the world.


As the VP Global Expansion, you will lead our international expansion efforts from strategy to execution, ensuring reMarkable is set up for success through managing the impact expansion will have on the organization. You will, through close alignment with our corporate strategy and the business side, embody an entrepreneurial spirit characterized by ownership, accountability, strong commercial sense, and be the driving force in this area.


You will have an integral role in driving related projects that pull on relevant people and stakeholders across both the department and organization as a whole in order for reMarkable to make this expansion successful and smooth. In doing so you will cooperate with many subject areas and be a key enabler for long term success, which is why stakeholder management is a crucial part of this role. Reporting directly to the COO, this role will play a crucial role for the development of our company in the years to come.


Some key roles and responsibilities for this role include;


Leading the international expansion agenda, strategy & execution


You will be collaborating closely with the leaders in various departments to create and maintain an international expansion roadmap aligned with top corporate strategy, and ensure implementation at the right time and order. An important part of this role is to understand the geographical challenges and opportunities that arise with global expansion, and how to correctly navigate in those scenarios. Facilitating collaboration, and managing key stakeholders across the different functional areas will be critical for success. This also implies you will own the budgets needed to execute the plan, create business cases and risk assessments as well as involve external stakeholders.


Driving operations at established “hubs”


Together with different departments at our company (legal, finance, org., operations etc.) we are looking for someone to steer the operations at established hubs around the world. As the responsible project leader you will act as the “spider in the web” and make sure operations are running with world-class efficiency, unifying all stakeholders into one cohesive team.


Part of Org leadership team


The Org leadership team consists of 5 senior leaders responsible for their own business areas within Org: People & Culture, Talent Acquisition, Workplace Experience, Organizational Development and Global Expansion, all contributing to setting the Org. department and reMarkable up for success. This includes being a strong contributor in setting the department strategy, being involved in strategic initiatives and aligning different projects as well as supporting OKR processes, running the department, and other Organizational deliverables.
