Job description

The Postdoc will work in the “Coeliac Disease clinical trial centre at Oslo University Hospital”. This centre is funded by South-East Regional Health Authorities (Helse Sør-Øst) for 3 years starting in 2022. The centre will employ one clinical post. doc. and one laboratory-based post. doc. The centre has as its main focus to develop and investigate new therapeutic targets for drug treatment of coeliac disease. The centre is ideally located at the junction between clinical gastroenterology (including endoscopy service) and world-leading research on the immunopathogenesis of coeliac disease. The scientific milieu can look back at many invaluable discoveries on the pathogenesis of coeliac disease. We have several national and international collaborators.
The post. doc. will actively participate in, and run, several projects. This involves investigator-initiated clinical trials as well as participation in industry-initiated clinical phase 2 and phase 3 trials. Some of these trials are ongoing, others are in the planning phase.
The post. doc. is expected to initiate own trial(s) that is linked to the ongoing dissection of the immunopathogenesis of the disease. The centre is staffed with study nurse and laboratory engineer resources and has access to clinical research facilities.
The clinical post. doc. can and should, if a 50 % position is chosen, combine the employment with clinical service. At the moment, no such positions are available at Oslo University Hospital Rikshospitalet.
