Seeking part-time volleyball coach for an active, colorful team

Raballder Volleyball is a club aimed at people who thrive in a queer and open-minded environment. Most of us are LGBT+? in one form or another and we have a diverse environment with 80 members originally from about 20 different countries. We don’t care whether you yourself identify as LGBT+ - the most important thing to us is that you’re open minded and qualified for the job.

The club's goal is to give our members good sporting and social opportunities, as well as to increase LGBT+ visibility in sports in Norway. We are based in Oslo and host our training sessions at Norges Idrettshøgskole in Sognsvann and Nydalen High School in Nydalen.

We are looking for a coach who can train some of our teams one or more evenings per week for this coming season, from the end of August 2021 throughout May 2022. It might be possible to prolong the employment for upcoming seasons, depending on our future schedule. We have 5 different teams/training groups and levels vary from beginner to Norwegian 4th division.

Our training hours are:

• Tuesdays at 18-20 in Norges Idrettshøgskole in Sognsvann
• Wednesdays at 19-22 in Norges Idrettshøgskole in Sognsvann
• Thursdays at 17-18.30 in Nydalen Videregående Skole
• Sundays at 18-20 in Nydalen Videregående Skole
• You will be expected to be available for one or more of these sessions.

The job

You will be responsible for the coaching of one or more of our teams, depending on what we agree upon. Your goal will be to help the players improve their individual skills and also help them improve as a team.

Who are you?

We are looking for a person who:

• Is experienced in indoor volleyball
• Preferably has experience as a volleyball coach, but an experienced player with the right mindset can also be the right person
• Speaks good english (Norwegian language is beneficial but not required)

• Good communication and teaching skills
• Well structured and organized
• Inclusive and caring
• Ability to create enthusiasm and motivate people
• Salary to be determined based on qualifications.
