Norwegian language teaching position (grades 1-3)

The position is a temporary post within PYP (Primary School Grades 1-6), specifically teaching Norwegian in Grades 1-3. This is position might also include some Norwegian team teaching in Grades 4-6 and teaching unit work in English at Grade 4. You will be responsible for teaching and learning of a class of up to 21 students and differentiated group work.

The position will be between 35% to 100%.

The position will be part of the school’s teacher pay scale and is to cover extended staff leave during this period.

The position will include the following areas of responsibility:

• Curriculum leadership and management for Norwegian language in PYP
• Academic and pastoral care
• Team planning
• Assessment and student monitoring of progress

The skills desirable of the incumbent are:

• Excellent understanding and knowledge of teaching Norwegian language
• Excellent classroom leadership and management skills
• Good teamwork, communication and collaborative skills
• IB experience (especially of PYP)
• Flexibility, enthusiasm and professionalism
