Junior Security Analyst - Part Time

Norges Bank Investment Management is seeking an exceptional and dedicated student for the position of part-time Junior Security Analyst within the Security Operations Team.
The role is a part time position intended for a student commencing the final year of studies. We expect you to work on average 50% each month, and the role is designed to allow for some flexibility to allow for academic work and exams. The right candidate will have an unique opportunity to get his/her career kickstarted in an inclusive organization with great opportunities for learning, get training, make connections, and quickly move into a more senior full time position in cyber security.

What you will do
From our Oslo office you will be working closely with our security staff across the world. You will be part of ensuring security incidents are being detected and responded to during the European business hours. The position will work alongside our Cyber Security Incident Response Team and Cloud Security Engineers. You will be collaborating with other security analysts, detection engineer, threat hunter and our third-party security providers.
You will join a growing security team and we expect you to participate in engineering activities to support our operations and continuous improvement. You will get to work with a modern cloud based security technology portfolio invested in state-of-the-art products to support our needs and be part of a team that sets the highest standards for excellence.

The role may be subject to a compensated on-call duty during weekends and holidays.
The role reports to the Head of Security Operations. Some travel is required.

In this role these are some of the tasks you will be working on:
* Participating in incident response scenarios, including "purple teaming" and tabletop exercises
* Contributing to NBIM CSIRT's daily operations including triage of escalations from our own tooling and also detection partners
* Contribute to development of and continuous improvement of detection processes and incident response procedures
* Triaging alerts, performing investigations and analysis as well as contribute to threat intelligence and threat assessments

As a student we expect you to be in a relevant higher education programme and have strong academic records. We expect you to already have a foundation and to be eager to learn more about:

* Public cloud services (AWS), e.g. microservices, containers
* Operating systems, i.e. Linux/Unix and Windows
* Programming and/or scripting languages such as Python, Bash, JavaScript, Go, PowerShell, etc.
* Written and verbal communication skills
* Work efficiently as an individual contributor as well as part of an agile team
