Job description

The Faculty of Law, University of Oslo, has a position available in its Research Group Companies, Markets and Sustainability.

The position is an Adjunct Research Professorship (a 20 per cent position).

The position offers an exciting opportunity to become a part of one of the Faculty of Law's most international, vibrant and ambitious research groups; a leading group in the emerging area of corporate law, corporate governance and sustainability.

The successful candidate's expertise is within one or several of these areas: Finance, Law and economics, and  Public procurement.

The Adjunct Professor will be an integrated member of the Research Group's core team, and contribute to developing relevant areas of research in the Group, including collaborating with the scholars in the Group on external funding applications.

There are no teaching or administrative requirements; rather the successful candidate will be given the opportunity to give lectures, including in the Research Group's annual PhD seminar, and where relevant, also for master students.

The position will run for five years from 1 September 2018, or from a later date agreed upon with the successful candidate.

Qualification requirements

We are looking for dedicated candidates with excellent and international research profiles, which will be a good fit with at least one of the Research Group's scientific goals and one of its thematic areas of priority.

The working language of the Research Group is English, and candidates should have excellent command of English, written and spoken. Knowledge of a Scandinavian language is not a requirement, and will not be a decisive factor in the evaluation of the applications.

We encourage candidates from all relevant disciplines to apply. In the assessment of the applications, emphasis will be placed on:

  • The candidate's research ambitions, which should be set out in a motivation letter.
  • Academic and personal ability to follow up the research ambitions, demonstrated through the candidate's CV and ten-year track record, of maximum 10 pages.
  • Willingness and ability to successfully join in international and interdisciplinary academic collaboration.

In the evaluation of the qualified candidates the full range of these criteria will be explicitly addressed and assessed.

Short-listed candidates may be asked to submit selected publications and may be invited for interviews in Oslo or through electronic means.

We offer

  • A salary NOK 158 540,- - 196 400,- per year
