SeaDream Yacht Club is seeking a dedicated Spa/Shop Director

We are searching for a Director of Spa & Shop to our award winning product. Director of Spa & Shop has overall responsibility for the Spa and Shop operations onboard the SeaDream vessels. The position is based in Lysaker, Norway.

Key responsibilities: 

To ensure, together with the Director of Maritime Personnel, that the Spa and Shop are manned by the best available staff.

• Be a part of the selection and interview process.
• Ensure proper and timely training to give the best possible knowledge, guest satisfaction and revenue.
• Ensure regular communications with the onboard staff to ensure that Company policy is being followed and that revenues are being met. 

Develop and maintain revenue budgets.

• Work closely with the SVP Hotel Operations during the budget process.
• Discuss the Spa and Shop results with the SVP Hotel following each voyage.
• Be creative in your ways to increase revenue while keeping costs in check.

Develop and maintain an interesting retail product line for Spa and Shop

• Identify items that guests will want to purchase.
• Be aware of trends in the market to develop strong brand relations.
• Ensure that products and sizes are available at all times.
• Work closely with the Purchasing Department to ensure timely ordering, delivery and cost-effective logistics.
• Create an inventory and purchase order relations with the Purchasing Department.

Develop and maintain an interesting and modern Spa menu

• Stay updated on the latest techniques and offerings at the finest establishments.
• Ensure proper training of Spa treatments, external and internal.

Academic and professional qualifications:

• Higher education in business
• Strong background in beauty and wellness  
• Strong background in retail management  
• Result driven and oriented

• Strong training skills
• Strong motivational skills
• Strong negotiating skills
• Able to work with an international staff at all levels, onboard and ashore
• Able to travel on short notice

More information:

The company has some 65 employees and affiliated staff as a part of its shoreside organization (Norway, Denmark, UK, Germany, Switzerland, USA, Brazil, Mexico, Australia etc.) and some 300 employees at sea.

• Reports to SVP Hotel Operations
• Expected to travel 4-8 times per year for 1 week, sometimes on short notice
• Location: Lysaker, Norway
• Full-time position. 
• Work permit valid in Norway required.
