Head of Ship Management

UECC is looking for a new senior manager for the UECC fleet of 9 PCTC vessels of which 5 are LNG/Dual fuel powered, while 3 of these are LNG Battery Hybrid Powered ships. This role will have overall responsibility for the UECC Ship Management department; technical, purchasing and crewing. Furthermore, this role will also collaborate with the newly initiated newbuilding project. 

Main roles and responsibilities for the position

• Overall responsibility for Ship Management and execute the Marine strategy in line with UECC’s objectives, budgets, and priorities
• Ensuring that UECC owned vessels meet all national and international requirements regarding safety, environment, and ship technical class regulations
• Keeping in line with new legislation in cooperation with the HSEQ Manager
• Building a strong safety culture and responsibility for ISM, ISPS systems within Ship Management
• Drive the digital transformation within the department
• Responsible for marine purchasing and managing suppliers and suppliers’ contracts
• Overall responsibility for BASSnet and contact link with the IT department
• Emergency Contingency Response Team, DPA, CSO and deputy's
• Organisational development and training of the Ship Management department
• Collaborate and assist internally with time-chartered vessels
• Collaborate with the UECC Group, especially with the operations team to optimize group results

Experience and competency requirements.

• Marine University or Senior education in marine / engineering
• Relevant experience of management within marine / technical
• Relevant experience of a marine environment
• Ability to think strategically and drive change.
• Good communication and organizational skills: Tactful and diplomatic.
• Fluent in English – spoken and written.
