Role description

As the Director HSE you will be responsible for driving the HSE agenda across Telenor Towers, and work closely with the local management and operational teams. You will also have a coordination responsibility towards other HSE teams within the Telenor Group, and externally.

The role’s tasks are varied and covers all aspects of Health, Safety and Work Environment across our operations. This is the position for you given that you have a strong passion for HSE, so that our employees, suppliers and partners work in safe and sound manner. 

Role’s responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Setup and govern the health and safety agenda across the business unit’s operations effectively
• Facilitate activities, including investigations, related to safety items, HSE incidents (reactive) and identifying and mitigating potential risks (proactive)
• Active participation regarding training, control and follow-up on our HSE work, internal control, audits and audits of contractors and partners
• Ensure that the periodic health and safety reporting is done accurately and in timely manner
• Drive a safety culture across the operations with clear roles and responsibilities
• Develop HSE management system and other relevant HSE tools

The role is part of the Nordic Security & Safety department in Telenor Towers and will report directly to CSO / Head of Security, Safety and Sustainability.

Required qualifications

• Proven track record as a HSE professional and leader within telecom, construction, oil and gas, industrial production or another related field
• Master’s or bachelor’s degree within relevant field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skillset
• Very strong verbal and written language skills in English and in one Scandinavian language
• Thrive from working in a team, but has the ability to work independently
• Collaborates well with own, customer and supplier’s HSE personnel in all relevant HSE issues
• Advantage to have developed and/or maintained ISO 45001 management system or equivalent, and having certificate within ISO 45001 and/or ISO 9001 (e.g. ISO 45001 Lead Auditor)

Having the possibility to obtain nation security clearance in Norway on minimum CONFIDENTIAL will be beneficial.
