We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of People & Culture to support the global commercial function of our organisation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing People & Culture strategies and processes that deliver the business objectives and drive efficient growth within the commercial function.

As Global Director of People & Culture, Commercial you will aim to “Provide a People Experience that’s as great as our products.”

Hurtigruten has offices and employees worldwide, and you will be working with employees from multiple countries. This role requires international experience within HR and a good understanding of the commercial function.

As Global Director of People & Culture, Commercial you will report to VP People & Culture and support our CCO as a member of the Commercial leadership team.

Key responsibilities :

Partner with the commercial leadership team to understand business goals, implement People & Culture strategies and processes that support growth and performance. This implies:

  • Drive employee engagement initiatives and performance management to foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Provide strategic guidance and operational support on organisational design, workforce planning and succession planning in the commercial function based on Hurtigruten’s frameworks.
  • Ensure consistency and alignment with the over-all People function and business leaders to secure service scope and overall contribution are meeting or exceeding expectations.
  • Review, update, and implement global and/or local HR policies, procedures and initiatives as needed. Ensure compliance with local regulations depending on geography.
  • Overall responsibility for employee related documentation (Employment contracts, job descriptions, contract changes, agreements, salary records) according to current local legislation.
  • Support salary review and benefit related procedures, including dialogue and negotiations with trade unions and works councils where applicable.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in HR partnership roles, including supporting global commercial functions in a multinational environment.
  • Hands-on operational experience within a matrix organisation and with a geographically dispersed team.
  • Strong business and commercial acumen and understanding of commercial operating models.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing People strategies that drive business results and operational excellence. Demonstrated Ability to translate commercial needs into People & Culture actions & strategies, and similarly translate People initiatives into commercial outcomes.
  • Demonstrated Experience to deliver change management and organisational development in a fast-paced, commercial environment, bringing everyone on the journey. You are also able to coach, influence and make tough decisions quickly and execute inclusively.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership and interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Relevant master’s degree
