Om arbeidsgiveren
Trondheim International School (THIS) is an inclusive international school offering comprehensive, globally recognized International Baccalaureate (IB) education for students aged 6 to 16 (grades 1 - 10). THIS is a school for both international and internationally minded students who are interested in learning in a different way. The school is located near the beautiful Kristiansten Fortress, right by the center of Trondheim, with easy access to all the academic and cultural resources the city has to offer.
THIS promotes a holistic approach to education, focused on developing the whole child. Through our inquiry-based teaching and learning, we develop skills in our students, which will prepare them to enter the unknown world of tomorrow as resilient and caring global citizens.
THIS was established in 2004 by a founding group seeking a truly international educational offer in Norway’s capital of science and technology. Becoming an accredited IB school was central to achieving this and we have been an IB World School since 2008. We are proud of our connections with local research institutions and industry which allows the school to truly be part of the local community and affords our students with many exciting opportunities to take their learning outside the classroom.
THIS currently employs 40 members of staff, and the student body consists of just under 220 students. As a small school, THIS prides itself on its community feeling, with close working relationships between staff, students and parents. We place an important focus on developing and maintaining a positive school environment. Despite its size, THIS is a truly international and multicultural school - with more than 40 nationalities and languages represented.
Trondheim International School is a non-profit, independent school that is funded primarily through state subsidies and topped up with capped school fees.
