Want to take Norwegian Energy transition to the next level? 

To strengthen our Offshore Upstream offering and support our clients in their transition to sustainable energy sources, we are looking for a senior underwriting resource. We are looking for someone with proven strategic business development capabilities to develop our broader Energy offering and take our Norwegian underwriting team to the next level. You will be working in close cooperation with our local Energy team and experienced team of 28 Renewable Energy Underwriters spread across Europe.

The world is, however, still dependent upon non-renewable energy sources, which is why our product offering to this sector continues while the globe transforms towards more sustainable technologies.

Who are we?

Based in Oslo, you will become part of our growing Energy team of 35+ underwriting, claims, and risk engineering experts within On- and Offshore Wind and Solar. We are currently also developing solutions for Hydrogen, Battery Storage, CCS and more.

The Norwegian Office is located at Aker Brygge in Oslo. Besides Upstream Energy, and Renewable Energy, we also offer insurance solutions within Financial Lines, Cyber, M&A, and Property/Construction/Terrorism. Common for all business lines are that we put in a team effort to ensure the client is in focus and that the clients’ need always are taken care of.

The position

In the role as Head of Energy Norway, you will work to maintain and grow our current Upstream Energy value proposition whilst making strategic investments and building our offering for the future of Norwegian Renewable Energy. As key part of a leading international team of technical underwriters, this will be an unique opportunity to build competencies and drive changes in a fast growing, everchanging energy transition business environment and insurance market place.

The role involves daily communication with key stakeholders such as insurance brokers, clients, and our international carriers. You will be leading and developing a growing team of four local Energy underwriters. You must therefore be service-minded and enjoy building relationships and networks as well as thrive in communicating and socializing with internal and external stakeholders from various countries and operations.

As our Renewable Energy members are based across Europe, you will be offered to travel as to have regular interactions and share experience with the rest of the team.

The role will report to the Group Head of Renewable Energy based in Denmark and to the Managing Director of Norway.

You are capable of handling complex tasks, have a sales oriented working method, good negotiation skills, and able to manage work relationships.

Insurance knowledge and experience is a must for this position. Experience with business development, people leadership, project management, analysis, risk assessment, contractual terms, marketing, sales, and business administration are preferred.

Speaking and writing English fluently is a must, and Norwegian language skills are considered an advantage.
