What You Need to Know

The Engineering Department is a multi-disciplined team engaged in the design of industrial control systems for the oil & gas, telemetry and renewable energy sectors.

The Engineering Manager has overall responsibility for all activities related to the operation and output of the Engineering department.

Reporting to the The Manager of Sampling & Production who will oversee and work with the Applications, Mechanical and CAD discipline leads to ensure that engineering tasks and deliverables are completed to the highest standard, in line with company schedule, cost and quality requirements.

The role has responsibility for ensuring that engineering activities, processes and deliverables are consistent, efficient and maintain a high standard of performance and safety

The Engineering Manager shall seek to continually improve all aspects of the engineering process, function and performance. while supporting other functions and locations with technical support as required.

Department management responsibilities include department budget, maintenance of department processes and procedures, achieving agreed KPIs, staff resourcing and development and promotion/implementation of activities to meet and support the overall objectives of the business.

Some of the Key Accountabilities (includes, but not limited to the following)

• Responsibility for the Applications Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and CAD functions. 
• Provision and development of department resources to meet business objectives.
• Delivery of quality, on time and within budget technical solutions to project owners.
• Ensuring all departmental output meets legislative, customer and business requirements
• Management and planning of departmental capacity and activities to achieve utilization targets.
• Direction of staff to achieve optimum performance and improve efficiency and service standards.
• Standardization of offerings, where practical, to allow efficiencies in cost, time and quality.
• Support of Service Department with resources to deliver life of field support, remotely and in-field.
• Support of other departments and locations with technical input and resource as required.
• Continuous improvement of departmental process, procedures and interfaces.
• Implementation of best practice in line with KPIs to drive and demonstrate improvements.
• Compile and manage departmental budget.
• Represent the Engineering Department internally and externally to the business.
• Travel to attend Customer or Company locations, where required. 

Education

Essential

• Engineering related qualification (MSc, BEng, BSc).
• Preferred
• Professional registration
• Management qualification

Skills & Experience

Essential

• Understanding of subsea/topside mechanical, electrical, software system design. 
• Proven track record within a technical supervisory position. 
• Proficient in planning and maintaining budgets. 
• Understanding of engineering tasks, processes and activities. 
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, Norwegian and English.
• Ability to interface with internal/external customers
