Oda is a company on the move. We built Norway’s leading online grocery store and now we want to share what we’ve created with the world! Delivering a broad assortment of high-quality, affordable groceries to thousands of doorsteps is a complex process, but we believe we’ve cracked the code. Using data-driven methodology, with a focus on sustainability all the way along the chain, we are creating the most efficient retail system in the world.
As a Department Manager in Oda, you’ll lead and manage one of our departments at Lier. In this role, you are responsible for driving productivity, ensuring operational excellence, and fostering a positive work environment. As part of your role, you will set clear expectations, establish effective channels of communication, optimize resources, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires strong leadership skills, data-driven decision-making skills, and the ability to build collaborative relationships across teams and functions. You'll have the overall responsibility for the department's performance and development.
What you’ll do as Department Manager with us
- You'll collaborate with the local management team to establish KPI targets for the department and track progress by organizing weekly KPI reporting meetings.
- You’ll follow up on day-to-day operations such as shift reports, deviations, and KPI’s
- You’ll lead monthly performance reviews on behalf of your department
- You’ll have the personnel responsibility for the department shift leaders
- You’ll be present on the shop floor leading and coaching both day- and night shifts, and helping out in operations when necessary.
- You’ll host and be responsible for monthly department- and shift meetings, for both day- and night shift
- You’ll ensure that the department follows all HSE and compliance-related rules and tasks. Also, following up and ensuring that the department works in compliance with all standard operating procedures
- You’ll provide valuable insight and input into both locally and globally-driven improvement work as a key stakeholder
- You’ll enable and facilitate collaboration between day- and night shifts by setting the structure for communication and ensuring a common understanding

- Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating the capacity to effectively influence and negotiate across diverse levels.

- Are proficient in collecting and utilizing data as a tool for decision-making.
- Have the ability to implement and maintain an organized structure within the department.
- Have a strong numerical aptitude for planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
The following will probably be helpful
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
- Excellent written and verbal English and Norwegian skills
- Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role, demonstrating strong leadership abilities
- Experience from working on structured projects with measurable goals
