Cæp., a unique dining experience influenced by Californian cuisine, is seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to join our team in Oslo. Responsibilities:
- Design and equip the kitchen in the best and most efficient way possible
- Develop and execute a menu inspired by Californian/American cuisine, utilizing the best ingredients
- Create innovative dishes that showcase the flavors and techniques of American cooking while adding your own unique twist.
- Oversee and participate in the preparation, cooking, and plating of all dishes, ensuring consistency and high-quality presentation.
- Manage and train a team of culinary professionals, including Sous Chefs, Line Cooks, and Kitchen Assistants.
- Collaborate closely with the restaurant management team to establish and maintain food quality standards, portion control, and cost-effective practices.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering and sourcing of ingredients to maintain high-quality standards while controlling costs.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
- Responsible for HMS and that Cæp obey and work in accordance with all regulations for a Norwegian Restaurant ( IK-mat documentation and quality assurance tool for food).
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a high-volume restaurant.
- Knowledge and passion for Californian cuisine, with the ability to create unique and exciting dishes.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent culinary techniques, creativity, and a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with other team members and communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
- Understanding of food cost control, inventory management, and kitchen operations.
- Relevant culinary qualifications and certifications
- Fluent in English, speaking a Nordic language is a big plus

Cæp is a modern American Bar and restaurant concept. We primarily draw inspiration from California, which will be reflected in the menu, atmosphere and decor. Brunch is served at weekends, and dinner throughout the week. Sports and occasionally other entertainment will be shown in a separate part of the venue.
Cæp should be a place where you can sit all day, where brunch can slide into dinner and a couple of fresh drinks, or a better glass of wine. Here you can have a bite to eat and a beer, and watch a match if you wish.
The target group is men and women between the ages of 25 and 50, who are willing to pay a little extra for good quality. In the long term, we want Cæp to grow and believe that the concept will fit in all big cities in Scandinavia. With well-thought-out decor, exciting food and drinks, nice atmosphere and great service, Cæp will become Oslo's first trendy American Sports Restaurant.
We have a great location in downtown Oslo with about 100 seats inside and 40 outdoors. The location is now being fully renovated and we will open this autumn.
