Fleet Performance Manager

For our head office in Grieg-Garden, Bergen, we are looking for a Fleet Performance Manager to oversee the coordination of vessel operations and liaise with owners on issues of total performance for the fleet.

Tasks & responsibilities
You will be coordinating, developing and managing the company’s involvement in the technical, operational and environmental performance of the fleet in line with the relevant charter parties and KPI’s including as directed technical follow up of new buildings and / or existing tonnage and relevant projects.

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Establishing and maintaining procedures to track and report the performance of all G2 Ocean operated vessels
• Benchmarking of fleet managers and implementation of best practices
• Vessels condition and performance as reported from branch offices
• Monitoring closely the overall condition and performance of all G2 Ocean Pool vessels including off hire recording
• Ensure that reporting systems are developed that will give operational management detailed knowledge of the performance/capability of the senior officers and other sea staff
• Safety on board
• Participate with VP Operations in an Emergency team that will set up procedures to be followed by vessel staff, branch office staff and head office staff in the case of an accident or an emergency involving G2 Ocean vessels
• Be fully acquainted with existing and future international and local laws and regulations affecting shipping and to maintain Director Operations Support fully informed of the potential impact of those and to change or develop policy accordingly
• In coordination with Fleet Management Projects teams provide Technical follow up of new buildings, relevant projects and existing tonnage, to include liaison on issues of continual technical improvement
• To participate in the general operational management of G2 Ocean as required, including participation in the preparation of Fleet Management budgets and budget reviews, maintaining control of costs and expenditure

Relevant experience and skills:

• Previous experience within Operations or Fleet Management at a senior level
• A detailed understanding of fleet management & vessel operation, vessel performance requirements and maritime legislation & its application
• Preferably Master/Senior deck officer with operational experience. Equivalent shore qualifications and experience considered
• Preferably 5 years relevant experience in operations roles within the shipping industry, a substantial part of that experience being from the dry bulk / break-bulk sector

We believe our new Fleet Performance Manager is diplomatic and a strong communicator with cross cultural skills. You must be flexible and self-confident with an orientation to details. You are fluent in English and have a strong commercial and contractual understanding. You will report to Managing Director Operations, and be a part of his management team.
