About the role

This is a hands-on role that will report directly to the Nordic Head of Recourse. Your mission will be to lead and develop our recourse team in Norway so that we always stay by our customers’ side. In addition, you will be managing the recourse portfolio across the claims teams, as well as registering and successfully closing your own recourse cases.

In your role you will be coaching and supporting recourse lawyers and recourse specialists when needed and working with relevant partners to improve their recourse identification.

You will also be evaluating the recourse processes to identify improvement opportunities, actively collaborate with other regions to standardize recourse processes and stay updated on relevant legal developments / trends relevant to recourse handling.

Maintaining a close collaborative network with the other Nordic recourse teams to share knowledge and create best practices together is also a strong focus you will have in this role.


About the team

The recourse team is a Nordic group that forms part of the Large, Complex & International claims function. Our focus is to help recover recourses in an effective and efficient way to minimize operational costs for the business.

The Norwegian team has currently 9 employees located in Oslo and Bergen and you will also work closely with other claim handling units. The aim is to support them to identify all potential recourses, to share knowledge and create best practices together.

You pass your engagement and mindset on to your team so that you get the best results together.


You are willing to share your knowledge and experience with colleagues to build understanding and improve the overall process. You are an excellent communicator and keep various parties up to date on progress.


You always maintain a positive and innovative working environment to keep your team engaged. You are open minded and eager to learn new things. You are interested in learning the technical nature of the various claims processes to help improve your recourse handling. You are daring and not afraid of trying out different solutions, you delegate and empower your team to succeed.


You also have:

Ideally you will have the following skills and experience:

  • University degree in law
  • Experience working with claims and with handling recourse cases in particular (ideal but not mandatory)
  • Fluent Norwegian and English language skills are required
  • Knowledge of the relevant legislation / conditions applicable to insurance and claims processing (ideal but not mandatory)
  • Have experience leading and developing a team (ideal but not mandatory). Your dedication and motivation to take on this role is even more important, so share that with us in your application.


Additional facts and recruitment process

The position is a full-time position and located in Oslo, Norway. Some travel to other offices in Norway and within the Nordic region is required.
