About the role:
We are now seeking a Head of Data Science to drive the overall strategic direction of our data-driven initiatives. You will report to Head of Data & Insights and play a leading role in the Data & Insights team organized within Technology and Platform. Our mission is to deliver great platform capabilities to the rest of the organization and increase their data literacy so that they can innovate and scale with data.

You will work with different teams and personas across Vipps MobilePay, including Product, Marketing, and Engineering, and guide from idea to integration into business decision-making. You will assist in building Data teams and be responsible for the professional development of all Data Scientists and Analysts in the company.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop an overall analytics strategy for Vipps MobilePay that aligns with the company’s goals and objectives
• Support business units in defining and prioritizing data projects, and setting up proof of concepts
• Building and maintaining analytical tools that are to be used by business units
• Lead initiatives to increase data literacy across the organization, including developing and delivering data literacy training and workshops
• Responsible for the professional development of data scientists and analysts in Vipps Mobilepay by leading the professional community for data science and insight
• Be a part of Data and Insights’ management team, driving the area forward as a group

Some of these might describe you:

• Relevant education and deep knowledge within the data science/analytics field
• 5+ years of experience in a data analytics/science leadership role
• Headed multiple analytics projects from PoC to implementation
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business objectives into data-driven solutions
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate data insights to a non-technical audience
• Interested in both drawing up long-term strategies and work hands-on on current projects
